Most cocktail parties take the Thrive Room: lounge seating, warm lamps, and room to mingle without anyone getting parked in a corner. Add the Spark Room next door when the guest list grows or you want a second scene, one room for conversation, one for dancing under the disco ball.

We arrange the layout around how you host. High-mingle with scattered seating, an elegant sit-down-ish lounge night, or somewhere in between. Doors open with everything already in place.

Bring your own alcohol under an AGLC Special Event Licence, with no corkage fee and no bar minimum. Cater it yourself, order in from a favourite spot, or tell us what you’re after and we’ll point you to local options. Drinks stay indoors, and the front patio is licence-free for fresh-air breaks.

Where can I host a private cocktail party in Canmore that isn’t a restaurant?
Right here. Our space in downtown Canmore books privately, so the room is entirely yours for the evening. No shared tables, no minimum spend, and no last call decided by someone else.

Can I bring my own alcohol to a private event in Alberta?
Yes. With an AGLC Special Event Licence you can serve your own drinks at a private event, and we’ll walk you through getting one. We charge no corkage and have no bar minimums.

How many people fit for a cocktail-style party?
Depends how you want the night to flow. Up to 100 for a mingling, open-house style evening, around 60 for something more seated, and we can style an intimate setup for 10 so a small gathering never feels lost in the room.

Do I need a bartender, or can we pour our own?
Either works. Plenty of hosts set up a self-serve station or a batch cocktail; others bring in a bartender for the night. Tell us your plan and we’ll set the room to suit it.

What about guests who don’t drink?
A mimosa bar can go alcohol-free, and mocktail stations are easy to stage in the kitchen corner. The photo booth, karaoke and games don’t care what’s in anyone’s glass.

How far are you from Banff and Calgary?
We’re at 105, 717 – 9th Street in downtown Canmore, roughly twenty minutes from Banff and an hour from Calgary. Lots of groups stay in Banff and come to us for the party itself.

How far ahead should I book?
Friday and Saturday evenings go first, especially in summer and December. A few months ahead is safest for those; midweek and off-season dates often work on shorter notice.

Can we decorate the space ourselves?
Absolutely. Come early to set your own touches, or hand us your theme and let our decor styling do the fussing while you get ready.
