Bring your own drinks under an AGLC Special Event Licence, no corkage fee, no bar minimum, which keeps the budget where you’d rather spend it. Food can be catered, ordered in, or brought by the aunties who insist. Ask us and we’ll point you to local options we like. Alcohol stays indoors; the front patio is licence-free.

Who usually hosts an engagement party?
Traditionally parents host, but these days it’s just as often the couple or a best friend. Whoever books with us gets the same private room and the same help, so host it however fits your family.

How many guests can an engagement party venue in Canmore hold?
Ours flexes with your list. Up to 100 mingling for a big open-house celebration, around 60 for a seated feel, and an intimate setup for 10 when it’s just the inner circle.

Does the engagement party need to be at our wedding venue?
Not at all. Plenty of couples celebrate here while the wedding happens elsewhere, in the mountains or back home. And if you’re still venue-hunting, you’ll get a feel for how we host.

Can we bring our own catering and alcohol?
Yes to both. Your own food, your own bubbly under an AGLC Special Event Licence, no corkage, no minimums. It makes a real difference to what an evening costs.

What’s a good engagement party venue near Banff for out-of-town family?
We’re in downtown Canmore, about twenty minutes from Banff and an hour from Calgary, so guests staying anywhere in the valley can reach us easily and walk to dinner or hotels after.

Is the space private?
Completely. One booking at a time, so the toasts, the happy tears and the embarrassing stories stay in the family.

Can kids come?
Please bring them. The Bunny Den kids’ room gives the little ones their own space to play while the adults linger over drinks.

How far ahead should we book?
Engagement parties usually land within a few months of the proposal, so dates move quickly. Send us your date early, even if the details are fuzzy, and we’ll hold what we can while you plan.
