The morning after the wedding deserves a soft landing. A farewell brunch at our place in downtown Canmore gathers everyone one last time: coffee that smells like the mountains, a mimosa bar, and a private room where nobody has to whisper around other diners or give up the table by eleven.
By the day after the wedding, whoever is organizing has nothing left to organize with. So we keep this one easy. The room is set when you arrive, food can be as simple as ordering in from a local favourite, and guests drift through on their own schedules as flights and drives pull them home.
It works just as well for other goodbyes too: a friend moving away, the end of a reunion weekend, a last gathering before a big move. Tell our wedding planners your morning, and they’ll come back with some options and availability.
Brunch suits the Thrive Room best: long tables for the food, soft seating for the slow risers, and morning light that flatters everyone who danced too late. The kitchen corner keeps coffee flowing and trays refilled without anyone playing waiter.
Guest list still moving as people change flights? The layout flexes. We plan for the number you expect and the room forgives the number you get.
Every farewell brunch includes:
Ways to make the goodbye sweeter:
Order in, bring your own spread, or have it catered, whatever your morning-after energy allows. Ask us and we’ll point you to local options. Mimosas and other drinks are welcome under an AGLC Special Event Licence, with no corkage fee. Alcohol stays indoors; the front patio is licence-free for coffee in the mountain air.
Where can we host a day-after wedding brunch in Canmore?
Here, in a private room in downtown Canmore. No restaurant minimum spend, no shared dining room, and nobody waiting to flip the room while people are still hugging goodbye.
How many guests usually come to a farewell brunch?
Usually a portion of the wedding list, and the number moves as travel plans do. Our room takes up to 100 mingling, around 60 seated, and still feels right styled for an intimate 10.
Can we order in food instead of hiring a caterer?
Yes, and honestly it’s what we’d suggest for the morning after. Pastries and a hot order from a local spot, staged in our kitchen corner, and nobody has to cook or coordinate.
Is there a mimosa bar option?
There is. A mimosa bar is our most-requested brunch add-on, and it can pour alcohol-free for the drivers and the kids’ table.
What if guests come and go at different times?
That’s the nature of this brunch and the room is built for it. Open-house style works beautifully: food stays out, coffee stays hot, and each wave of guests gets a proper goodbye.
Can the brunch happen even if the wedding was somewhere else?
Of course. Plenty of couples marry in Banff or up a mountain and gather everyone here the next morning, twenty minutes away in downtown Canmore.
Are kids welcome?
Very. The Bunny Den kids’ room keeps the little ones happily busy while the grownups linger over one more coffee.
How far in advance should we book?
Book it alongside your wedding planning if you can; summer weekend mornings go quickly. That said, farewell brunches are calmer bookings than weddings, so later asks are always worth sending.
