The Spark Room and Thrive Room sit inside our downtown Canmore building, twenty minutes from Banff and an hour from Calgary. Book one room for a tighter circle or open both together, so the space matches your guest list instead of the other way around, which matters most for a milestone birthday where the crowd is never quite what you expect.

A big milestone crowd can spread out and mingle up to 100. A seated dinner fits around 60 at the tables. And a smaller circle of 10, the kind of birthday where you only want your closest people, gets its own intimate setup instead of rattling around a room built for more.

Bring your own food and drinks, order in, or ask us about local catering once you’ve got a headcount, we don’t work with just one caterer so you get to pick what fits. Alcohol comes in under an AGLC Special Event Licence, no corkage fee and no bar minimum, and stays indoors, though the front patio is licence-free if anyone wants air. A mimosa bar is a popular add if you’re leaning toward a daytime celebration instead of an evening one.

What’s included when we book the room for a birthday party?
The Spark Room or Thrive Room, set up for your group, plus board games, a photo corner and decor styling before you arrive. Everything else, karaoke, the photo booth, the audio guestbook, gets added on top.

How many people can the space hold?
Up to 100 mingling for a full milestone celebration, around 60 for a seated dinner, and a smaller setup for 10 that still feels like a proper party instead of an empty room.

Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Yes. Bring your own alcohol under an AGLC Special Event Licence, no corkage and no bar minimum. Order in, cater it yourself, or ask us for local options.

Our guest list is a mix of work friends, old friends and family, does that matter?
Not for the booking. The room is private, so there’s no other party sharing the space and nobody at the next table listening in, whatever the mix of people turns out to be.

What can we add to make the birthday feel bigger?
Karaoke under the disco ball, a photo booth, the audio guestbook for messages you’ll want to keep, a paint and mandala workshop, or tarot and crystal readings if the group’s up for it.

Can we do a daytime birthday, like a brunch?
Yes, a mimosa bar is a favourite for that. The room works just as well for a Sunday brunch birthday as it does for an evening one.

How far ahead should we book, especially for a milestone birthday?
Summer weekends and long weekends fill first, so three to six months ahead is safest for a 30th, 40th or 50th. Shorter notice often works off-season, send us your date and we’ll come back with options and availability.

Is the room really just ours, no strangers nearby?
Yes. It’s a private booking, so there’s no shared table, no other group waiting on you to wrap up, and no curfew pushing you out early.
