When you’re planning a goodbye, the venue should be the easy part. Our celebration of life venue in downtown Canmore is a calm, private space where family and friends can gather, share stories, and take the time they need.
The rooms arrange themselves around you: rows of chairs for a short service, round tables for a shared meal, or a relaxed open house with tea and coffee flowing all afternoon. For a larger community, the Spark and Thrive Rooms open into one connected space with its own private hallway. There’s a kids’ corner in the Bunny Den too, because little ones are part of the family.
Play a photo slideshow on the big screen, set out a memory table, and invite guests to record a story in the audio guestbook, in their own voice, for the family to keep. Bring in food from home, arrange catering, or keep it simple with coffee and squares. We set up quietly before anyone arrives, so you carry one less thing that day.
Gatherings take place in the Spark Room or the Thrive Room in downtown Canmore, or in both opened together as one connected space with a private hallway, so a service can flow straight into tea and visiting without anyone moving buildings.
Chairs in soft rows, round tables for a meal, or an open room for coming and going: describe the gathering you have in mind and we’ll arrange it quietly before the first guest arrives, with a table kept aside for photos and keepsakes.
Included with the space, so there is less for you to organize.
Gentle additions, only if they help.
Whatever feels right for your family: dishes from home, a caterer of your choosing, or simply coffee, tea and squares. If you’d like to raise a glass, Alberta requires a simple special event licence for private events, we’ll walk you through it, and you’re welcome to bring your own with no corkage fee.
Can we hold the service and the reception in the same place?
Yes. Many families do a short gathering of words and music, then move straight into tea, food and visiting, all in one room, with no convoy across town.
How much time do we get?
The space is yours for the block you book, including setup beforehand and unhurried visiting after. Afternoon and full day options are both common.
Can we play a slideshow and music?
Yes. A 110 inch projector screen and sound system are ready to go, and we’ll help you test everything before guests arrive so nothing is left to chance.
What are the food options?
Whatever feels right: dishes from home, a caterer of your choosing, or simply coffee, tea and squares. We’ll share catering options if that helps.
What is the audio guestbook?
A vintage-style phone where guests record a spoken memory or message in their own voice. The family receives every recording afterwards. For a celebration of life, it tends to become the most treasured thing in the room.
How many people can attend?
It depends on the shape of the gathering. An open house, where guests come and go through the afternoon, can welcome up to 100 people. A seated meal together works for around 60. And for a small family circle of 10, we’ll arrange the room so it feels close and warm, never empty. Share your expected number and we’ll take it from there.
Can we raise a glass?
Yes. Alberta requires a simple special event licence for private events, and we’ll walk you through it. You’re welcome to bring your own, with no corkage fee.
We only have a week or two. Is that enough notice?
Celebrations of life often come together quickly, and we understand that. Send the inquiry form or call, tell us your timing, and we’ll do everything we can to make it work.
