Games night at home means clearing the table, hiding the laundry and mopping up whatever lands on the board. Ours means big tables, a private room in downtown Canmore, and snacks you didn’t have to vacuum up afterwards. Bring your favourite games or raid our stash, and stay as loud as the game demands.
Bars are too loud for a proper strategy game and living rooms are too small for a proper crowd. Our space gives your group real table space, elbow room, and zero neighbours to apologize to when the bluff finally lands. It’s also the answer to a rainy or frozen mountain day when the hike is cancelled and the group still wants a night out.
Tell our event planners your headcount and the games you love, and they’ll come back with some options and availability for your date.
The Spark Room sets up beautifully for game tables: sturdy surfaces, good lighting for reading tiny cards, and space to spread a long campaign or run several games at once. Take the Thrive Room too when you want a lounge side for the between-rounds crowd.
We arrange tables by how you play: one big tournament layout, clusters for parallel games, or cozy corners for the two-player intense types.
Every games night booking comes with:
Level it up:
Bring your own snacks, order pizza to the door, or cater it properly for a milestone night. Drinks are welcome too, bring your own under an AGLC Special Event Licence with no corkage and no bar minimum. Alcohol stays indoors, and the front patio is licence-free for air between rounds.
Is there a venue in Canmore I can rent just for board games with friends?
Yes, that’s exactly what this is. A private room in downtown Canmore with proper tables, booked just for your group, no bar noise and no strangers hovering over the board.
How many people can a games night hold?
As many as your game collection can handle. The room takes up to 100 mingling for a big social games evening, around 60 seated at tables, or an intimate setup for 10 for the serious strategy crowd.
Can we bring our own board games and snacks?
Please do. Bring the favourites your group already argues over, and any snacks you like. We keep a board game stash here too if you want to try something new.
What’s a good indoor group activity in Canmore when it’s raining or freezing?
This one. When the weather cancels the mountains, a private games night keeps the whole group together, warm and entertained until whenever you decide it’s over.
Can we book for just a few hours?
Yes. An evening booking works for most groups, and we’ll match the time to your plan. There’s no table turnover here, so the night ends when your game does.
Can we drink during games night?
You can, your own drinks under an AGLC Special Event Licence, no corkage, no minimums. And nobody has to drink for the night to work; the games carry it.
How far are you from Banff?
About twenty minutes. We’re in downtown Canmore, an hour from Calgary, an easy call for groups staying anywhere in the Bow Valley.
Do you host recurring games nights?
We’d love to. If your crew wants a monthly table, tell us and we’ll look at standing dates together.
