Spark Room

Spark Room

Need to host a photoshoot, quick company meeting, community event, or a wine tasting night to catch up with your friends? We’ve got you covered. We even have a private meeting room that can facilitate break-out discussions and sub-meetings throughout the day.

Spacious yet intimate – this is the perfect spot to chat and build meaningful connections, with an added bonus of bringing your own refreshments (we have a fully equipped non-industrial kitchen great for hosting cocktail events).

Our transformable open-concept space invites you to mingle but also has potential to break up your group into different functional zones to engage in private conversation. With the separate meeting room, fully equipped kitchen and variety of common areas, the Spark Room is happy to accommodate your next special gathering.

INQUIRE

  • The Spark Room is our open-concept space at 105, 717 – 9th Street in downtown Canmore, built to flex between one big mingling crowd and several smaller conversations happening at once. Inside it sits the Huddle Room, a small private office for up to four with its own sliding door, so a breakout meeting or a quiet call can happen without anyone leaving the building.

A private hallway also connects Spark straight through to the Thrive Room next door, so the two can open into one larger venue when your guest list grows. Photoshoots, quick company meetings, community gatherings and wine tasting nights have all found a home here, and the layout moves easily from rows of chairs to lounge clusters to a full open floor.

  • Included:

    • Full use of the open-concept Spark Room, ready to reconfigure for your group
    • Access to the fully equipped, non-industrial kitchen for cocktail-style service
    • The Huddle Room, a private breakout space inside Spark for side conversations or small meetings
    • The building’s variety of common areas for guests to spread out between
  • Add-ons:

    • Thrive Room: open the private hallway between the two rooms for a bigger footprint on wedding days, conferences or larger parties
    • Kitchen use for catering: bring in your own catering team and use the kitchen to plate and serve
    • Photoshoot or video shoot setup: the open floor and natural light work well for portrait sessions, brand shoots or a short video project
  • The kitchen is fully equipped and ready for cocktail-style service, so you can bring your own snacks, a grazing table or a hired caterer of your choice. Alcohol is welcome at private events under our AGLC Special Event Licence, with no corkage fee either way.

  • How many people does the Spark Room hold?
It depends on the setup, an open mingling layout fits more than rows of seating, so tell us your guest count and we’ll map out what works.

Can I bring my own alcohol to the Spark Room?
Yes. Private events here fall under an AGLC Special Event Licence, so you can bring your own alcohol with no corkage fee.

Is there a kitchen I can use?
Yes, the Spark Room has a fully equipped, non-industrial kitchen, ideal for cocktail-style events and simple food service.

Where is the Spark Room located?
We’re at 105, 717 – 9th Street, Canmore, AB, T1W 2A3, about twenty minutes from Banff and an hour from Calgary.

What is the Huddle Room inside Spark?
It’s a small private office for up to four, tucked inside the Spark Room behind a sliding door, handy for a breakout chat or a quiet call during your event.

Can Spark and Thrive be booked together?
Yes, a private hallway connects the two rooms, so they can open into one larger venue for a bigger group.

Is the Spark Room good for a photoshoot?
It is. The open floor and natural light suit photoshoots and video shoots, and the layout can be cleared or styled to fit your shot list.

    Do you allow outside caterers?
Yes, bring in the caterer of your choice, or use the kitchen yourself for something simpler.
