Destination Wedding

Destination weddings in Canmore and Banff don’t have to be stressful spreadsheets disguised as love stories. Our boutique Canmore wedding venue near Banff National Park flips the script with mountain views, flexible destination wedding packages, indoor backup spaces, and all the hand-holding you need to actually enjoy the wedding you’ve been dreaming of.

Let’s be real: planning a destination wedding in the Rockies sounds dreamy, until you start Googling “Banff wedding permits” at midnight while wondering if your guests will even figure out how to get here. That’s why we created a boutique Canmore destination wedding venue that gives you the best of both worlds: the epic mountain backdrop and the calm of knowing every detail is handled.

Picture this: you say your vows outside with sweeping mountain views, the weather pulls a classic Banff curveball (snow in June, anyone?), and within minutes you’re inside a cozy, light-filled space that feels intentional. Long tables dripping in candles, lounge corners where families blend effortlessly, and a dance floor next door that turns into the afterparty. Large or small wedding venues in Canmore never looked so good.

And because destination weddings are a whole trip, we help you design the weekend. A welcome mixer to break the ice, a rehearsal dinner that feels like a celebration on its own, the big day (with no stress about food/drink minimums because yes, you can BYO champagne and tacos if you want), and even a farewell brunch. Add in helicopter photo sessions, Rockies scavenger hunts for your guests, cozy kids’ corners so parents can relax, or late-night s’mores by the fire. This isn’t a hotel package; it’s your story, your vibe, your way.

Budget? Flexible. Packages? Transparent. Permits, officiants, transportation, photography? Consider it handled. Our destination wedding concierge guides you through the Banff National Park rules, connects you with local photographers who know the best hidden angles, and makes sure you spend less time stressing and more time actually enjoying your engagement.

So instead of juggling logistics and weather apps, you get to laugh, sip, dance, and live in the moment. Because a Canmore and Banff destination wedding should be unforgettable for all the right reasons. And yours? It’ll be the one guests talk about for years: the one that felt effortless and completely you.

INQUIRE

  • The wedding weekend can move through several spaces here: a welcome mixer, the ceremony outdoors with a mountain view or indoors from the start, the reception in the Thrive Room, and a farewell brunch, all in the same downtown building so your families aren’t shuttling between venues.

A private hallway connects the Thrive Room to the Spark Room, so the reception can flow from long-table dinner straight into dancing. If the weather turns during any outdoor portion of the weekend, the indoor backup is ready and styled, not a scramble.

  • What’s included for your destination wedding weekend:

    • Outdoor ceremony site with an indoor backup built in
    • The Thrive Room and Spark Room, connected by a private hallway, for reception and dancing
    • Space for a welcome mixer, rehearsal dinner or farewell brunch
    • The Bunny Den kids’ corner for travelling families
    • Guidance on Banff National Park permits and local logistics
  • Popular add-ons for your wedding weekend:

    • Karaoke under the disco ball for the reception night
    • A mimosa bar for the farewell brunch
    • Photo booth and audio guestbook for the reception
    • Decor styling across each event of the weekend
  • Your wedding, your menu: bring your own food or hire any caterer you love across the weekend, with no minimums and no required vendor list. Alcohol is BYO under an AGLC Special Event Licence, served indoors with no corkage and no bar minimums, so champagne at the welcome mixer and tacos at the reception are both entirely allowed.

  • Why choose Canmore over Banff for a destination wedding?
Canmore sits just outside the national park gate, so your guests skip the park pass, parking is easier and downtown lodging and restaurants are walkable from the venue. Banff stays twenty minutes away for photos and adventures.

Do my guests need a Banff park pass?
Not for the wedding. Our venue is in downtown Canmore, outside the park boundary, so nobody needs a pass to attend your events here.

How do guests get here from the airport?
Calgary International is the gateway, and Canmore is a highway drive of a little over an hour. Once guests arrive, downtown Canmore is walkable, so most never need a car again until they head home.

What if the weather turns on the big day?
Our indoor spaces are designed as a real first choice, not an afterthought: candles, long tables and a dance floor ready to go. If the sky misbehaves, the day moves inside within minutes.

Can we plan the whole wedding weekend here?
Yes. A welcome mixer, a rehearsal dinner, the big day and a farewell brunch can all happen in the same building, so your two families get real time together instead of passing in hotel lobbies.

How do we keep costs fair for our travelling guests?
Choose a walkable base, which Canmore is: guests skip rental cars and park passes. On your side, bringing your own food and drink with no bar minimums keeps the venue budget in your hands.

What are the rules about food and alcohol?
Bring your own food or hire any caterer you love, with no minimums and no mandatory vendor list. Alcohol is BYO under an AGLC Special Event Licence, a straightforward permit we’ll guide you through.

How many guests can the venue hold across the wedding weekend?
It depends on the event: up to 100 for a mingling welcome mixer, around 60 for a seated reception dinner, or an intimate setup for around 10 for something like a rehearsal dinner. Tell us each event’s guest count and we’ll map out how the spaces fit.

Can we plan everything from another province or country?
Yes, most of our destination couples do exactly that. We plan it with you from wherever you are, help with officiants, photographers and transportation, and keep the moving pieces on our side of the table.

    What about guests bringing kids?
Bring them along. The Bunny Den gives kids a corner of their own with games and toys, so parents can relax at dinner and stay for the dancing.
