Elopement weddings in Canmore and Banff don’t have to feel like scaled-down versions of “real” weddings. With our boutique Canmore elopement venue steps from downtown and minutes from Banff National Park, our flexible elopement packages are designed to fit your style, budget, and story.
Forget cookie-cutter ceremonies and hotel ballrooms: your day deserves something intimate and breathtaking. Whether it’s a Banff elopement wedding with mountaintop photos or a backyard-style Canmore elopement with twinkle lights and long-table dining, we’ll help you design a celebration that feels personal, not pre-packaged.
Here, you get the magic of outdoor mountain views, the ease of an indoor elopement backup venue, and the flexibility to choose how you want your day to flow.
Our small wedding venues in Canmore are ideal for couples who want cozy charm without losing the wow factor. Exchange vows with outdoor elopement mountain views, then glide indoors if Banff weather pulls a fast one. Our indoor boutique elopement spaces mean you never have to stress about a raincloud stealing the spotlight.
Food and drink? Your choice. Keep it simple with BYO champagne and cake for a budget-friendly Canmore elopement, or let us curate styled tables, grazing boards, or plated dinners that match your vibe. Pair it all with our Canmore elopement photography partners who know the Rockies’ best angles, and your day turns into a photo album worth showing off forever.
Whether you’re drawn to the adventurous side (heli rides, sunrise vows, Rockies hikes) or the cozy side (intimate dinners, lounges, and laughter with your closest circle), our Canmore elopement packages scale to fit your vision. No stress, no cookie-cutter, just an intimate Banff wedding that feels 100% yours.
Say your vows outdoors with a mountain view, then move inside to a boutique space built for a smaller celebration: candles, a long table and lounge corners instead of a cavernous ballroom. The indoor backup is part of the plan from day one, so a change in weather never turns into a scramble.
After the ceremony, the Thrive Room becomes your celebration space, with a private hallway through to the Spark Room if you want dancing to be part of the day. It flexes from just the two of you plus witnesses up to a table of your closest people.
What’s included with your elopement package:
Popular add-ons for your elopement:
Keep it simple with your own cake and champagne, or ask us to arrange styled tables, grazing boards or a plated dinner for after the vows. Alcohol is BYO under an AGLC Special Event Licence, served indoors with no corkage and no bar minimums, so your toast costs exactly what your favourite bottle costs.
Do we need a permit to elope in Banff National Park?
If your ceremony happens inside the park, yes, Parks Canada requires a registration submitted well ahead with rules on group size. Or skip the paperwork and hold your vows in Canmore instead, just outside the park boundary.
What happens if it snows on our elopement day?
In the Rockies that’s a real possibility even in summer. Our packages pair outdoor vows with an indoor backup that feels intentional rather than like a fallback, so you’re married beautifully either way.
How many guests can we bring to an elopement?
Inside Banff National Park, ceremony sites cap the group at a small number including vendors. At our venue afterward, we work well for an intimate celebration of around 10, a seated dinner for around 60, or as many as 100 if you’d rather open it up into a bigger mingling night. Tell us your number and we’ll shape the day around it.
What do we do after the vows?
Come back to a small celebration: a long table, candles, toasts and laughter with the people who matter most. Keep it simple with cake and champagne, or go with styled tables and a plated dinner.
Can we bring our own champagne?
Yes. We never supply or serve alcohol, so you bring your own under an AGLC Special Event Licence and we’ll point you through the permit. No bar minimums means your toast costs what your bottle costs.
What do we legally need to get married in Alberta?
An Alberta marriage licence, an authorized officiant or marriage commissioner, and two adult witnesses present at the ceremony. If you’re eloping as just the two of you, ask us about people who can stand in as witnesses.
How much does an elopement package cost?
It depends on your guest count, hours and food style. Send us your date and rough vision and we’ll put together options and availability that match it.
Should we elope in Banff or Canmore?
Both, twenty minutes apart. Many couples hold vows or photos in the park, then celebrate at our venue in Canmore, where parking is easier and no park pass is needed for guests.
Does an elopement still feel like a real wedding?
Yes. You still get the vows, the photos and the celebration, just with a guest list small enough to know everyone’s name.
Do your packages include a photographer?
We work with Canmore and Banff photography partners who know the Rockies’ best light, and we’re happy to fold that into your day. Already have a photographer you love? Bring them along.
